Installation Guide
DO NOT INSTALL FFXIV UNTIL YOU HAVE UNINSTALLED THE BETA!
DO NOT INSTALL FFXIV UNTIL YOU HAVE UNINSTALLED THE BETA!
DO NOT INSTALL FFXIV UNTIL YOU HAVE UNINSTALLED THE BETA!

This guide will walk you all the way through installing FFXIV. If you have it installed, you can skip to step 10 for patching. All screenshots were taken on 64-bit Windows 7. If you are not running the same OS, your directories may vary slightly.

If you have a problem, feel free to send me an e-mail (krizz@tehkrizz.net). Please be sure to include the step number you are on so I know what you've already done.

1. Put your CD in or mount your ISO.

2. Choose your language. I'm not sure what difference it makes here since your actual FFXIV language is the same as your OS language. Probably just the language for the rest of the installation.

3. Next

4. If you have an antivirus that doesn't like installations, close it for now.

5. Standard license agreement

6. Installation directory. Unless you know what you're doing, probably shouldn't change it.

7. One last chance to make sure directory is correct before installing.

8. Installing. This took 30 minutes on my laptop to complete.

9. Installation complete.

10. Open FFXIV and this is the first screen you'll get.

11. Next screen.

12. At this point if you are going to manually patch the D2010.09.18.0000 file, close FFXIV. For this guide, I don't patch until the next file. (Patch downloads)

13. It will automatically restart and recheck your version information. Note that the boot version has changed to match the patch that was just installed.

14. Next screen.

15. Now it is actually installing the D2010.09.18.0000 patch that it just downloaded. Should only take a few seconds.

16. Now it is checking the D2010.09.19.0000 patch and creating the appropriate directory.

17. Now it is actually downloading the patch. I highly recommend closing the installer at this point and continuing with the guide to patch it manually. (Patch downloads)

18. This is the location of your patch folders.

19. Download the patch file(s) you need, and put them in the correct folder. As you can see from the screenshot, I do not download the patches straight into the patch folder. (Patch downloads)

20. Copy and replace from your download directory into the appropriate folder.

21. Copying.

22. After opening FFXIV again, it will check the version.

23. This screen again.

24. It will show the 'preparing to download patch' screen again and you'll notice the percentage go up as it does. This is it recognizing the file you copied over. If the percentage doesn't go up, you should close and recopy the patch into the correct folder again. Once it finishes checking the download, you should see this screen.

25. It will then install the patch. This one will take a tad longer than the last one due to its size.

26. After that you will see the sign in screen.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of this. Downloading a copy of a game you do not own is illegal. Any game downloads are intended for backup purposes. SE is so awesome and really doesn't want to send me a C&D letter.
